What is the difference between an HTC Desire and the Droid phone?

An actual DROID phone and an HTC Desire essentially the same phone? My brother is telling me the HTC Desire is not a DROID phone,, but it that is is a droid-like phone. So I guess I’m wondering, what is the difference,,,other than their marketing obloquy (HTC Desire / DROID)

I can properly set an alarm on my ipod touch, however when i place it in the broadcasting and a song is playing on the ipod, the broadcasting itself does not automatically turn on. My ipod nano automatically turned the broadcasting on when the ipod started playing, and this worked well as an alarm clock. How do i get my ipod touch to do the same thing my ipod nano did?

How do I get my HTC phone to stop automatically showing messages when received?

When I get texts they pop up on the screen as soon as I get them. This is bad because I have weirdo friends who send pervy messages and my parents wouldn’t understand. I don’t want one day for them to pick it up and there be one of those messages popping up. How do I get it to just go to my in box instead of popping up on the screen? It is an HTC Touch phone.

I just purchased the HTC Incredible. Downloaded the Handcent app for texting. When I get a text, it comes up through handcent and the messaging program that the phone comes with. Can i make it so that i only get the message once through Handcent, without deleting the original messaging app that came with the phone?
